যত দোষ নন্দ ঘোষ

I don't remember why I yesterday hooked into Jugantor website. I read some articles in the Letters and IT World page. When I clicked to the titles to open any article, garbage was displayed. I understood it was font problem. Just to try some way arounds without following their tips regarding the font problem, I clicked print and the Bangla display was ok in the print preview. I followed this technique to read all articles thereafter. If it were in the case of any Government website, it would have been a great news by any Newspaper.

Now I visited the Contact Us page and noted the email addresses to send one of my writings. After sending my letter to publish@jugantor.com the mail immediately bounced. I was frustrated. Now I went to the Feedback page. I wrote about my frustration in the feedback form and pasted my letter at the bottom with a request to pass my letter to the concerned section. With much hope to reach Jugantor now I clicked the submit button. Making me more frustrated nothing was happening. That means the submit button was inactive. I saved my letter into notepade before I clicked clear to test the page. Interestingly it just cleared my form without any delay. Think of any inexperienced user. It would take less than a second to wipe out hours of effort of an innocent user who may want to send some honest feedback to the Jugantor authority.

But I was not to stop there. I called Jugantor and wanted to talk to the web admin section. With initial greetings I reported him the bounce of my mail. Without asking me anymore he just advised me to send the mail to jugantor@link3.net. I realized that they are not unaware of the problem but still the email addresses are listed in their site. Why only Allah knows! I thanked him and then told him about the problem of the feedback page. I pray to Allah that he takes care of the problem and before that atleast they do not publish any news regarding the problem of any government website.

Now let me tell you my experience of the website of one of the biggest corporate in Bangladesh. Yes I am talking about Grameen Phone. I do have my CV posted into bdjobs for last 10 years. GP advertises into bdjobs but they do not accept online submission of CV from bdjobs. Any interested applicant must use GP's own website to apply for jobs. Recently I felt interested to apply for a position in GP seeing an ad in bdjobs. My CV is also in the GP but it was not updated for very long. So I invested about 2 hours to update my CV and when I clicked submit I got a blank white page in response. I was sweating thinking of my several hours effort. I logged in again and saw nothing has been saved. I went to the feedback page of the main website of Grameen Phone. I posted a message reporting the problem. But no response as of now.

After several weeks I got another ad in bdjobs and went to GP Job site. This time to test whether the problem persists or not, I just made a few changes and clicked submit. To my frustration I saw the same white page again. The last date of submission of application for the position was the next day. So I again posted a feedback reporting the problem with special emphasis that I am a prospective candidate for a vital position of the company and I deserve the remedy of my problem in reaching them. But still no one paid heed to my feedback. I'm not sure whether they care for any feedback or not.

Now I feel that this is a trap designed by GP. There is no way (atleast I do not know of any) you can reach GP directly for submitting job application other than the online submission. So by stopping you here, they probably have other ways to recruit people of their choice.
